Yahoo! disconnects ads in RSS service

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

TechCrunch is reporting that search engine Yahoo! has disconnected its ads in RSS service that enables network publishers to insert contextual advertising into syndicated content and get a piece of the action thanks to a revenue-sharing programme.

In an e-mail notice to network members, Yahoo! recommended members remove current Content Match tags from their RSS pages but assured them that it will continue to invest in more broadly used ad products for their publishing partners, Sponsored Search and Content Match. Yahoo! also stated that it’s excited about upcoming improvements to these ad products in 2009.

We’re On A Digital Mission…to South By Southwest

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

As announced last month on TechCrunch UK + Ireland, we’ve been selected to attend South By Southwest Interactive, as part of The Digital Mission, organised by Chinwag on behalf ofUK Trade & Investment.

SXSWi will be taking place in Austin, Texas from 12-18th March and is recognised as the event to showcase web startups - it’s also an amazing networking opportunity for us.

We’ll be in great company, alongside thirty-five other British startups, selected from over a hundred applicants.  We can’t wait to be there.

Do let us know if you’d like to meet us during the festival…myself, our CEO Mike Wheatley and cofounder, Imran Ali will be there for the whole week.
